PT. Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) I, II, II, IV
Indonesia is the largest archipelago in the world with 17,508 islands, two-thirds of its area is water. Which flanked by two continents, Asia and the Australian Continent and two oceans namely the Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean made the position of Indonesia very strategic to be passed by the intersection of international traffic either the sea or air. This condition makes the role of ports in Indonesia is very important as the gate of the country's economy, stimulate national economic growth, as well as the equality of the distribution of national logistics which is one Government program.
Considering the large of Indonesian waters area, then, there is division toward the port operational area. First, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia I (Persero), second, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia II (Persero), third, PT Pelabuhan Indonesia III (Persero) and the last is PT Pelabuhan Indonesia IV (Persero). The division of the operational area can be seen in the following Map.
The whole Indonesian port operators have made changes, innovation, and transformation to meet the challenges in the world of port. Various additional facilities and infrastructure have been made to face global competition in port services, because we believe best port is the port that is able to drive life into a much better in the future.
